  1. Assessment: We begin with a detailed examination and digital imaging to assess the affected tooth.
  2. Anaesthesia: Local anaesthesia ensures a pain-free procedure.
  3. Cleaning: The infected pulp is carefully removed, and the root canals are disinfected.
  4. Filling: The canals are sealed with a biocompatible material to prevent reinfection.
  5. Reconstruction: A crown or filling restores the tooth’s strength and functionality.
Our multidisciplinary expertise guarantees a seamless process from diagnosis to restoration.

Root canal treatment: does it hurt?

Modern root canal treatments are largely pain-free, thanks to local anaesthesia and the advanced techniques used at Archway Dental Group. Our team is dedicated to making the procedure as comfortable as possible, addressing any concerns you may have before treatment begins. Most patients report feeling relief from pain caused by the infection immediately after the procedure.

Pain after root canal treatment: what to do?

Some mild discomfort is normal after a root canal treatment as the tooth heals, but this typically subsides within a few days. Over-the-counter pain relief is usually sufficient to manage symptoms. If discomfort persists, contact us – our team is here to provide guidance and ensure your recovery is smooth.

Our Technologies

How long does a root canal treatment last?

A well-executed root canal treatment can last many years, especially when followed by proper oral care and regular check-ups. At Archway Dental Group, we use high-quality materials and techniques to ensure durable, long-lasting results. Restorations such as crowns further enhance the lifespan of treated teeth, helping you maintain your natural smile.

Abscess after root canal treatment

An abscess after root canal treatment is rare but can occur if the canals were reinfected or not fully sealed. At Archway Dental Group, we prioritise thorough cleaning and precise sealing to minimise this risk. If you notice persistent swelling or discomfort after treatment, we recommend contacting us immediately for a follow-up assessment.
