Extraction & Oral Surgery
Meet our surgeon Dr. Jaume Escoda Francoli, a specialist in Oral Surgery, Periodontics, and Implantology.
Tooth decay, tooth infection, and over-crowding can all require a tooth extraction. Often those who consider teeth straightening may need one or two teeth removed to provide room for their other teeth as they shift into place. Removing visible teeth is a simple extraction. Teeth that are broken, below the surface, or impacted require a more involved procedure.
Tooth extraction, and most commonly wisdom teeth can be removed, often due to the lack of space, or other teeth being in the way.
For most people, impacted wisdom teeth cause no problems at all, but some people can suffer problems such as inflammation of the surrounding gum, a higher risk of tooth decay, gum disease in other teeth, and possibly problems with teeth in later life.
If you are experiencing pain or signs of an infection —including fever, make an appointment to see your dentist as soon as possible.
